Seminar 6:
Tony Christiansen

Who is this Man?

It’s an understatement to say that Tony Christiansen is a remarkable man.   Although he lost both legs in an accident at age 9, he has never let that stop him.

Tony has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do, is a qualified lifeguard, won gold at the World Games for shot put, discus and javelin, races cars, flies planes and completed Rotorua’s Fletcher marathon.   He bench presses more than 250 kilograms.   And in 2003, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

Until recently, he operated his own successful signwriting business.

Today, Tony is one of New Zealand’s most sought after motivational and inspirational speakers, and it isn't hard to see why – he has achieved more in his life, against greater odds, than many of us. "It would have been easy for me to give up and accept my misfortune, but I figured it was up to me to do the best with what I had - and I did. And I've only just started."

What does he Do?

Through speaking engagements and his books, Tony uses humour and honesty to tell his story and inspire us all to greater heights.

You get a sense of the man from the goal he set after deciding to become a professional speaker – that was to become the best motivational speaker in the world.   Just three years later, in 2000, he received a 5-minute standing ovation from 2100 of his peers at the National Speakers Association conference in Washington, USA.

Tony’s first book, an autobiography, was published in 2000 - "Race You to the Top - The Tony Christiansen Story".    His second book, "Attitude Plus! - Tony Christiansen's secrets of success”, was released in 2003.

What this Adventure Heroes Seminar will Cover

One of Tony’s favourite quotes is “If you go through life thinking you can't, then you won't.”   We’ll talk with him about how we can enable ourselves and remove our mental roadblocks.

We’ll ask Tony how he identifies the goals he wants to achieve, and what he does to achieve them – what steps does he take, how does he overcome obstacles?

We’ll find out where Tony drew his inspiration from to become the man he is, against the odds he faces?   Who are his heroes, and why?

We’ll ask Tony what his next challenge will be, and how he plans to achieve it.
